Odee, Male German Shepherd/Whippet Mix, 1-2 years old

Odee. Looking for a gentle, sensitive, affectionate, and intelligent friend? Odee thinks he is a lap dog and jumps into laps to snuggle. He also could be crossed with kangorooh as he loves to hop up and down when good things happen. He rides well in the car and is already crate trained. He plays very nicely with other dogs and would be happy to have a confident dog friend in his new home, to play with and to help him learn the ropes. He weighs only 36 lbs but is underweight, should be 40 lbs at least. This youngster can be very afraid of some men. Once he gets to know them his fear disappears. Having this insecurity, he needs a caregiver who provides him with gentle but firm guidance, clear instructions, and with structure. He is a very smart boy who will excel at any training, and his confidence will be boosted by rewards for doing things right. Odee began to get very stressed at the shelter, common among highly intelligent and sensitive dogs. The caring shelter staff called us for help. Odee is thrilled to be in his foster home where he likes to look out of the bay window, waiting for his lucky adopters. Odee's foster home is in Cambridge, MA. We do not know yet how Odee is with small children, and will not place him in a home with the little ones. As long as Odee is listed on Petfinder he will be available for adoption.
